Following an in-depth investigation into the pathology of tremor, various tremor types and the effect of damping the oscillating movement, a joystick was designed with the following features:

Design:
Following an in-depth investigation into the pathology of tremor, various tremor types and the effect of damping the oscillating movement, a joystick was designed with the following features:
- Non-linear self-centring force.
- Damping applied to extension (moving away from the centre) but without damping when moving back to the centre. This ensures fast self-centring and therefore safety.
- Damping adjustable by means of alternative viscous fluids.
- Compact, size, conventional joystick appearance.
- Able to be retro fitted to a standard wheelchair joystick module.
